I have had other posts asking this question but no1 answered. I found a 40g tank witha sump built into it. What i am wondering is if i can use as a sump on my 100g but i will also be using it as a tank. Here are some pix of the tank w/sump and what i plan on doing

are you planning on using the one sump that is made for a 40 gal to filter 140 gallons? or just using the sump on the back of the 40 for the 100 gallon and a different filter for the 40 please tell us more info so that we can help you better...

why dontt you ust use the built in wet-dry by itself?

ill probly just use it as a diff tank. to much hassle in making it work

That is an excellent idea. I would try and get some of those scratches out of that acrylic first.
No it wont. Sumps are never 100% full and if you want it to be a tank then it wouldn't filter one of the tanks or it will over flow if the power goes off.
