i'm about to get a 45-55gal. tank and dont know what to make it. the reason i dont want sw is because of the water changes and mixing the salt. i wanted to know how everybody w/ large sw tanks mix so much salt for water changes.
in other words. how long does it take to do a water change.

Get a plastic garbage can and a strong powerhead. You can keep pre-mixed saltwater that way easily.

depends on the size of tank.... maybe an hour?
or how long or often do you do a water change?

can you keep the water for a while in the garage if the power head stays running?

you can but let it sit over night with a power head to fully dissolve and then check your salinity
20g storage bins are 3 for $15 at Bi-Mart including snap tight lids, great to have around, get a good air pump and acouple airstones and keep a couple with 12- 15G of salt water mixed and ready to use in your garage.
