I'm afraid my Miniatus has decided that an 8' tank is only big enough for him. Tried adding a yellow tang last night as a test case before adding my Queen Angel. Looks like this grouper will need a new home soon. But got a couple of good pics anyway.
I may be selling him this week or taking him back to the LFS. So if anyone is in the Baltimore/DC area and interested let me know.

That's too bad man...sorry to hear he has to go. The Miniatus is by far my favorite grouper. I took part in the "rescue" aspect of fish keeping with a Flagtail grouper and I still have him today. If I didn't have him I would gladly add him to my tank.
Best of luck...I hope he finds a good home.
damn joe he is nice how big is he I might have a home for him

He's probably about 6-7" maybe 8". Not sure, he's way to fast to measure. I bought him for $80 but I'm going to let him go for $60. He's a beauty and way easy to care for.
He never bothers my Lion or Eel. Matter of fact him and the 25" SFE share the same hole from time to time. But he seems to have issues with other swimming fish.
I really want to get another Tusk and I'm certain he would kill it as well as probably stress my Queen to death. So better safe than sorry.
Here's my eel and Lion just for fun.

I had problems with my grouper with the free swimmers as well. If it stayed in a cave he didn't care, but if competes with his food...that's a different story.
Recently I've noticed a "changing of the guard" in my 125. I think my Lunare Wrasse got fed up with being bullied around and he's taking the whole tank over. My wrasse has never bothered my tusk, snowflake, or lion...but there was an all out war with my trigger and grouper. Now the wrasse has AMAZING color and has claimed that tank as his.

I've heard that of Lunar's before, seem to grow into a nasty attitude.

have you got sold the Grouper or has he chilled out!!! a lot of fish don’t like new addition in the first 2 to 3 days it can the month before they really accept it if the Queen is big he is even less likely to have a go at him/her most Grouper big softies if a fish stands up to them they back off lol(unless they can eat it)

He was sold yesterday. He never backed off and as I have an Aust Harlequin Tusk coming in tomorrow..it just wasn't worth the risk.
I have decided to go for bigger less violant fish in this 240g community..Naso Tang, Queen Angel, Volitan, Tusk, Eels
