Hey Sean I agree, dont put it back in the 180 tank. I would do the same add salt and turn up the heat. Hope it makes it........

my thinbar went to kaka cloudy eye where it was so thick i thought it was blind, good clean water, treatment, heat, back to normal health and thriving. goodluck with yours man, hope he makes it.

I don't think people should so readily advise salt as fishes tolerance of salt vary a lot depending on the species/type of fish- it can also only treat a limited amount of deseases.
What your fish has is an external bacterial infection called "Cloudy Eye", it is not a very infectious desease, i would advise putting the fish back in the main tank as keeping it in 10gal will make it very stressed and make it more difficult for the fish to recover.
Cloudy eye is often caused by less than ideal conditions in the tank, so you need to check all posiblities for a cause of the infection like testing your tank for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates and posting the exact stats here. What other fish do you have in your 180gal as well and their sizes roughly? How often do you do water changes on the tank and how much do you take out on average? What do you feed the fish and how much and how often on average?
For treating the desease itself you need an anti external bacterial med like Pimafix, and do lots of small regular water changes (using StressCoat dechlorinator to dechlorinate the water is good) to help create excellent water quality conditions to help encourage the healing process.

I'm sorry to hear that, but now i guess at the least you will know what the infection was and how to treat it early on in the future at the least if you ever experience it again with your fish.
