yeah,, it looks like a micropeltes, but undernourished.
looks like you saved it alright... these guys are tough, and i bet it'll get it's color back when you get settled in...

Great fish, it is a shame that asians view them as "food fish" and the asian arowana as the "King of the aquarium", they are both fantastic apex predators of the aquatic world:clap

its been a food fish for centuries... arapaima's, silver and black aros are eaten in SA too... hell... most of the exotic monster fishes are table fish in the countries they are found in.
Even FH are edible...
