I currently have a 30cm ornate, but the LFS is getting some more in shortly (very rarely available here!) and I'd like to get a couple to grow out to keep together and maybe try to breed. Does anyone here keep more than one ornate in the same tank? He's in a 4'x20" tank now, but plan on upgrading to something around 6'x3' in the next year or two, and I have a 3'x18" to grow out the smaller ornates.
My big ornate started picking on my smaller palmas a week after he [ornate] was added to the tank. I'm guessing the smaller ones will grow quicker than the big one, and will eventually catch up with it. What size do you think I could try introduce them at? What would be a good number to keep together? (keep in mind they're pretty expensive here!) Any other suggestions/advice?
