wow thats very cool. How big are they? how big is the tank? My male female gachua have been getting along swimmingly until about a month ago.

Hi,

they are about 20 cm and the tank is 300l (120x50x50cm)...

Since yesterday the male have a full mouth (full with eggs).

yes - but i have to wait until next breeding...

at the moment the male-gachua do have the eggs in his mouth and i think in 5-6 days i should have the babies in the tank ;)... so... next time i will try :)

im getting nervous - the Gachuas should have babies soon... the male didn´t eat for last 6 days, so... the babies should be here maybe today ~or~ tomorrow.

they dug a big pit in the gravel and the male gachua move only above this pit. the female gachua only swim rounds in the tank and is looking for the male.

its a good pair :)

at the moment i have only a slr (digi cam) - so i cant make a video :( - sorry.

Yesterday i did see for 1 minute the babies... the male gachua spit them out, eat some sticks and take them in his mouth again. It was too fast to make some pics.

most of the channa´s (near all) need very much plants and places to hide - otherwise they dont get such colorful! There is no go without very much plants. They will show their colors only in an "underwater jungle" ;).

If i take the wood and plants out of the tank... they look realy like different channas if i compair them with the same channas in a tank with very much plants.

Channas need / love swimplants (is this word right ?), a jungle of plants, with wood and places to hide and without much light. Its the best way for them. So you can say, if they dont getting such colorful, the tank is not ok for them.

i would count them, but they are really small and jumping around like fleds. also the male gachua take them often back into his mouth. at the moment i cant see any baby ;)

but they are something about 45 baby gachuas :)

nooo :) - i have 4 (300l, 400l, 450l, 850l) tanks at the moment. 3 (1200l, 1200l, 1440l) new tanks i will order next weeks... first i have to finish all works in the room for the new tanks. i will have a seperate room for the big tanks.

The baby-gachuas are now out of their dangerous time... the take food, swim around... and in 1 week they are ready to give away.

How do i see if my gachuas are male or female? :S i have 11 gachuas, some are up to 30cm !!! O.o
