It's been just over a month and my little 3" RTC has evolved into a 5"+ eating machine. Here are some pics of him gorging himself:

looking good, growing fast, you'll have a monster on your hands in no time at all. Mine was about 26 inches long after 2 years.

His new home (200 gallons) will be ready next weekend. I am hoping that keeping him well fed until then will spare any unnecessary loss of life.

My lfs has some nice 8" royal clown knives that I am eyeing. I also want to add a silver arowana, a marble cat, my TSN when he gets large enough, a lince cat if I can find one small enough and a couple of wide bar dats.
My wife also wants a regular clown knife and some temensis peacocks as well.
This 200 will really just be a grow out tank for fish that I plan on moving to a 900 within the next year or two.
Any other ideas for tankmates?

Thanks. My wife loves the RTC. He's a real bully when it comes to his cave and food. He has no qualms about pushing anybody out of the way. Me personally, I prefer my dat. He tries to be real sneaky and he has become quite brave and is even willing to snatch krill away from the RTC.

Only 5 "? Just wait another month. This is the time you will want to remove anything you think can fit in his mouth, even the heater isn't safe. I've seen and heard many stories. At 4" my RTC was taking down 4.5" fat bala sharks. Have fun playing with your pet. But you, like me, might have to find it a more ethical home when it gets too much past a foot (won't be long).

Definitely don't have any plans for getting rid of him. He's in my 200 now and we are currently saving up for his next home in the 400 - 600 range. Plus my wife has a long term goal of something much bigger for him and the peacock bass she wants.

Yeah, he's already pushing 7". He's in with a 10" royal clown knife that doesn't take any gruff from him. I need to find a nice 10" - 12" aro and some good sized peacock bass now and I'll be set.
