What Gar species are these here in pics??
Shortnose?, Florida spotted??, Hybrids? wha?? :confused:

i would say fl but it depends on the parents and what area they were collected from to how the pattern develops

yes, now i know that these are not gator gars... or longnose gars. Thinking either florida, or spotted? a Southern Spotted gar?? Anyone think they possibly could be hybrids? hmmm??... these gars belong to a buddy of mine, and he's asking what exact sp. they are? He seen a couple of my old gars, and wanted some w/ exact same patterns... says these look kind of different?? :confused:

spotted gars don't have spots on the fins.
Fl. gars have spots on the fins.

have thing has hybrids y not gars
its either spotted or florida or even a cross between the two. lots of the gars we get into the uk are supposedly crosses

Huh? No, that's not true. Anyway, there are shortnoses, spotteds, AND floridas pictured... when I'm less tired I'll point out wich are which... :P
