Hey guys I would like to see some large thin bars. I always see pics of small sizes 10inch and under but I haven't seen them get over a foot. Maybe its because there not as popular as Pulchers or indos, and I know they do not get as big as those but I've read they still get a good 16-18inch.
Anyone have pics of some large guys:headbang2

I think that all Dats are as nice as each other, but i don't think that thin bars are as easy to obtain as the other species.

Lately, that doesn't seem to be the case. At least, not in the states. I've seen more and more around at lower prices and larger sizes.

i love the amount of gold on them. theres widebars with the huge fat stripes on them. and then theres thinbars with the vast amount of bright gold. ill try to get my camera back and post some pictures. i just picked up 6 small 2-3 inch ones.

i personally like the wide bars but...MAN some thin bars are nice!

around 4.5'' but the way it eats i am sure i can get it bulked up and growing in no time.

I've seen the pictures of him, a pretty awesome fish for his size.

Thats how big mine was when I bought him, took a year and a half to get him to the size he is now, if you can get him to a foot in a year I will be very impressed. Mine is in a 55 right now so I am sure they will grow faster in a bigger tank.

Here's one of my thin bars. He is not a monster by any means...just a monster-to-be.

Thats how big mine was when I bought him, took a year and a half to get him to the size he is now, if you can get him to a foot in a year I will be very impressed. Mine is in a 55 right now so I am sure they will grow faster in a bigger tank.
mine has lived in a 106g by itself pretty much for about the 6 weeks i have had it.
the thing is it was thin when i got it and dats like to add body mass and then they seem to sprout.
its getting pretty bulky now and has added around .5'' in around the last 3 weeks as it took about 3 weeks to get some bulk so i am looking for 1'' every 2 months or so.
i am sure i will have it upto 10'' + by july next year.
i got 3.5-4'' growth in 18 months out of my ST from 10.5''-11'' to 14.5'' and thats some feat on a dat that big as they are supposed to grow really slowly once big.
