Fatheads and any other fish that gets close to him...lol he used to be picky when he was under 10" then everything changed and he became a hitman, but only if fish bothered him or came too close...otherwise he keeps to his territory.

Looking great! What temp do you have it in? Does it get enough food even with all teh cichla aggressiveley eating? Does it seek out food or wait for it to drop in front of it?

he is in the 86*f tank, has been for almost 2 yrs now and doing great...he gets plenty of food as I dump in so much live that the cichla need a good 5min to collect it all...alot swim right to the yarrelli and he dispatches very very fast...he gets his fill during every feeding.

great job on the yarelli. Are you keeping this beautiful cat for life? I'd love to see someone have one in captivity large and in charge. Your's is the largest I have heard of in captivity, but I am sure there must be more somewhere. I'll have to get one seeing as how your's handles the warmer temps so well I think that one would do fine in my tanks around 75-80.
