Hey all,

after I sold my cichla yesterday to a friend with a bigger tank, I was able to put my black aro in the main tank.
I couldn't before because I was afraid it would be eaten by the cichla.

Here are some pics, note: the green is mostly from the (fake) plant I put in there to provide some cover for the aro, when the dat decides to be a bit of a bully, but untill now it's fine.

I was feeding mealworms btw.

The black aro is young yes, he's about 10" now.

I have got 3 endlicheri's. One male and two females. One of the females is the fish I got the longest, almost 3 years now. She's about 1.5 foot and fat :D She used to be the boss off the endlicheri's (and used to be one eyes partner).
When one eye died, she was always in one spot and would only sometimes allow the new endlicheri to lay besides her, but she also chased them away. As I thought, the male is now becoming more and more agressive to the females and chases them around. That's the reason I keep 2 females with one male. Some bichir are just agressive. I have had a lapradei wich was a total **^*&_( and one eye was also agressive.

There can be much reasons to the fighting, is one agressive or are they all? With me it was always one fish who chased the others, if that's the case with you get that one out for a week or so and then reintroduce. In that week you should change the decor around. Then it will hopefully calm down.

If that's not the case you can try and seperate them all for a while and then reintroduce together. Are they all the same size? It also can get less after a long period as soon as one is established as leader.

Any questions please ask.

NICE pics, It's hard taking good pics of black arros. I love the light colored Endli you have, do you know where it is from? Its color looks almost delhezi, it's so light/clean on the body.

Yep my big female is the boss she goes looking for a fight.
I have two females & a male in that tank but the boss is about 35cm & thick the other female is close in size 32cm but is a real softy as the smaller male 27cm will bit and chase her.
Well it's just natural territorial behaviour but sometimes I think if I remove all there rocks and wood they would settle down a bit with no territories. But then they would not be happy with no where to hide and a mean RTG swimming around.

Thanks! I don't know where the light coloured endlicheri is from, but it's from the same source and order as the other ones. She's also a semi short body. I will post some more pics tonight.

Try and seperate the big female for a while (like 1 week) and change the decor around before she's reintroduced. I helped for me, with my laps.

Banned for export...:(

Only thing to do is for someone to breed them.
