Anyone have this filter? I am looking to buy it for my new 150 Gallon tank. It says it is good for tanks up to 400Gallons. Anyone have any issues with it?
Also I have read in more then one place that it turns 607 gph. But i also read in more then one place it does 925? Does anyone know what it really does:nilly: ???? Also if it only turns 607gph wouldn't the turn over rate only be 4x an hour for my 150? and only 1.5 for the 400 gallon it can suposedly go up to? Am i not factoring something in?

.
i think the general concensous is the 600gph is when full of media and 925gph is empty.
i run 2 on a 180 and 1 on my 106 and like them as they work well.

My search shows some people selling them, but not to much info on them.
I think a turn over rate of 4x is not enough, am I wrong? I mean if it can be used on tanks up to 400Gallons, then shouldn't be able to turn over 150 more then 4x?

I want to get one one day too, but I am nervous with the shut off feature (shuts off for one minute per day to gas off).
if this malfunctions and doesn't come back on..you have major problems if your not around.
can this be disabled?

I prefer the XP4 over the FX5. I'm not really a Fluval fan, I have all XP's.

Had they lasted here in the states longer than a the blink of a eye  maybe I would have. As young as allot of the crowd seem's round here, they would have been straching something wondering what the h*ll is a renault

If a filter does 1000G/ph, thats when completely empty, the filters absolute maximum water flow. Now add 6 months, choc-a-block full of media, it could be reduced to 600-700g/ph. Not real heapful eh? But yes, I would use a FX5 on your 150. Add some powerheads for current. There are many good articles on them.

Thanks for the positive feed back on the FX5, and the not so positive feed back on Kia.
Should I get another smaller canister filter to get the turn over rate up? How are those "in tank" filters? What turn over rate do you guys try and get on a tanks. With only a FX5 i will only be looking at a turn over rate of about 4ph

what ever time you want it to shut down and start again is upto you say you are always at home at 7 o clock then turn it off then turn on it will shut down two minutes then restart then it will do that the same time every day
