hi guys
i was looking to buy a uv sterilizer sa jebo 36 watt one for my freshwater 180 gallon , i was wondering when i purchase this do i need anything else , like a water pump of some sort ,or whatever i get in the box is all that i need ?

Depending on you filter system, you can use the return from it to feed the UV.
If the return is too fast put a 'T' in the return with a ball valve on one side going back to the tank and the other going to the UV and adjust the valve to regulate the flow to the UV. Otherwise you need a pump to drive it. spec.s say up to 400gph, I would go with less, say 300gph.

Not that it's not done, but why are you needing a UVS on a FW tank?

i have a serious algae problem in the water and on a lot of the decorations in the tank , if you read the topic cloudy water you may understand it more

A UVS on any tank is an added benefit, regardless. They kill all bad bacteria, floating algae, pretty much makes your tank so much more cleaner. But not always visible to the naked eye.
