new pet lungfish

Picked up my new pet lung this Morning..:nilly: he's a bit skinny but has a real big head. (he's an ugly mthrfckr) here are some pics.

Noop.... just him and his food. (already eats like a pig)

He actually looks quite small compared to the dolloi in the top tank.

it's a cool fish to watch..kinda like looking at a slowmotion picture. It seems like he has a taste for swimming backwards:confused: :screwy:
It does not move as graceful and fast as the dolloi, he looks some what clumsy when he goes up for air. But he's just got in there so we'll see how things develop.

Yes I'm from Amsterdam...I picked up the fish at Ruinemans in Montfoort this morning. Also did this with my other lungfish.
I did order it via a normal LFS...in this case Aquarium Holgen in Amsterdam.

here are some detail pix: 12m glass lid is 10 mm glas quite heavy so the fish can not escape. lid is made from 3 pieces of glass with drilled holes for lifting.
total hight is 2 meters. stand is made from 6x6 ,,koker" steel don't know the english word for it.
I used 32 mm PVC for the in and outlet...monster proof..my dolloi is beating the crap out of it but still all in one piece I connected the PCV to the 10 mm glass lid but did not connect the glass lid to the tank so it can move..and cant brake when my fish tries to wreck it.

I'm saving for a third Eheim pro 3..I spend to much money these days on my tanks.

is wel mogelijk...k heb mn vissen alleen niet in Amsterdam maar in Leimuiden.
IK woon in de binnenstad en mn vloer houd helaas geen zware bakken.
Laat maar weten als je een x-tje in de buurt bent... k ben waarsch a.s Maandag weer hier.

Thanx..and yes the last one was a bit to expencive, I can make quick decisions but I think it took me 15 minutes before I could decide (got discount) I was just standing in the LFS like a moran ...but I'm glad I did buy it. They are not to common here in the Netherlands, I picked it straight up from the importer this morning they told me they only get in fish like this 1-ce every 2 or 3 year.

Yes it is quite similar Dutch and (south) African except for the Baie and some spelling I understand.
