What are some cool bottom feeders for an amazon theme tank. nothing too big and it has to be native to the amazon river.:D Dont say stingrays either I already know that one lol.:grinno:

Many loricariids are from the amazon and its tributaries. A little more specific as to what you are looking for will help. Do you want something flashy, or something odd, or just looking for a "clean up" crew member?

im looking for the clean up crew, something that will clean up after the arowana. The aro is the obvious center of attention in the tank Im looking for something equily cool and unique to match him, but that will still get the job done.

A tigrinus or juruense would be killer combo.

None that I can find. Most are from West Africa and Congo.

Polys are all from africa, most FW eels are from asia, some are from NA, and a couple from Africa. Look for a tig, if you have the money, but they are not cheap.

hey thanks for the advice everyone! :D I didnt think S.A. had polys, but I had to ask. The Tig is expensive but I might do it. There are plenty of other cats from the amazon if i change my mind.

Yep, unfortunately few can compare to the tigrinus.

god thats a cool looking fish! Ya I think I am going to get one. now I just need to find a lfs that carries them! lol
Maybe a group of hoplo cats? They are pretty much like corys on steroids (armored too) but may still not grow large enough to avoid being eaten by an adult arowana. Other than that, if you are looking for a true cleanup crew from teh amazon, you are limited to larger species of plecos

Geophagus will eat off of the bottom all day long. It's fun to watch them sift through sand.
