View Full Version : Pike characin / Slant-nosed gar (Ctenolucius hujeta)
Hi, have I come right if I want to talk about "Slant-nosed gar (Ctenolucius hujeta)"? I have one and I just wanna know the regular stuff about keeping them. Thx for any info (I do ofc know the regular stuff about them but I just want to know as much as possible) :D

its a Ctenolucius hujeta as you have stated. ive heard they can get up to a foot...however i have never seen it with my own eyes. i used to have a pair in my 75. they are very jumpy and do best w/ a planted tank as well as some floating cover. they also do best in groups. mine readily accepted prepared and live foods. it is not a "true gar". i think they are a pretty cool fish though.

Very nice! I have four of theese in my growout, about to go into a 100-125 Gal (not sure on gallonage.. but 4x2x2)
i am thinking about getting two more. they are awsome fish!
mine eats floating pellets, and are not shy at all
