240 8'2'2 stand just finished the base now just need some oak ply check it out tell

I built this the other day with a buddy of mine the helped me out. Like some of you know i have a broken leg foot and ankle right now so was kind of hard to do this but i did it's built out of nothing but 2"x4"s put together doubled up in some places to act as 4"x4"s instead on notching them out. Here's the pics tell me what you think so far. Ow i initially sprayed it with black flat spray paint just so i could see how many can it would take because i was going to use spray can polyurithane on it but after it took me 5 cans to cover it i have decided against buying 15 cans of spray poly to do 3 coats. Any ways check out the pics and tell me what you think i plan on putting oak ply on the out side to match the trim on my tank that if you go to the thread in diy called ---just fixed my 240 glass check out the pics ----- you can see what i did to my tank.

LIke i said this is the first one i ever make and is actually one of the only things i have mad out of wood was very easy to go for it you will love it when it's done.

not trying to be rude but the tittle say's it 240 8 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet

Right i now what you mean, my freinds store bought pine stand for his 180 is crazy crappy. I mean it looks nice but i would never build a stand that cheap i just has 4 2x4's up and down on the front two on each end then 2x4's running down the top and bottom and some cheap wood and doors on the outside wouldn't think that was stable at all but it works. Could you sue a company you think if that broke in you'r house i have never seen one from a store that was beefy at all they are all wiched cheap. I was going to buy one then said hell no the are cheaply mad and cost alot more so why not over build one my self that i know will stand up to the test of time. and then put some oak on the out side so it looks nice you know any ways thanks for the kind words and the reply did you post pics of the tank yet i can't waite to see it up and running with the p's in it.
