I have seen pleco tanks before and I think they look very nice. Never have thought of plecos as being fighters though.

Pleco's will chase each other all round the tank but never really do any damage !

Yes plecos are territorial but if you introduce then together into a new tank at the same time, they would not fight as each have equal opportunities to mark out their territory.

pleco aggression are often overhyped. They will be territorial and will fight to defend or mark an area as territory esp when newly introduced to a tank. But once equilibrium is established, then things should be fine. You will of cos still see some occasional bites or scuffles but nuttin serious generally. Unless u get one lunatic pleco dat is bent on wrecking havoc of cos :D

the tank is ard 230 gals...thanks!

the reason for posting pics is juz to show that it is possible to keep supposedly aggressive and territorial plecos together and have them doing well.. :)

It's more like 20. I counted 10 on each side of the tank.

I've read that the L018 gets a little over 12". The L081 (smaller gold spots) can get up to 7". Both grow very slow.

I've always made it a habit to keep just one Pleco at a time, When I've tried multiples they don't get along as they are territorial & the strongest one seems to survive. Just my 2 cents!

Pleco will fight for territory....
so you must have enough space to house few pleco in the same tank....
