im just intrested to know what people think about PFK over the last 2yrs

Practical fishkeeping is probably the biggest mag hear in the UK

i know things have changed alot in the last few years and most people can learn as much in 8hrs on the net as they can with 1 yr of mag reading

all veiws welcome on what you think the future hold for mag in the hobby

I dont have a subscription to PFK , but i do go to their website to read the articles from time to time, and i find that most of the article are decent and good reading.

So what are your thoughts, T1 ?

i still enjoy it but ,come to think of it i use the web for all my queries...dare i say...i wish they would get rid of the marine side of things......and what else would i read when i'm on the toilet..

I have brought it for years but stopped last year as the whole mag seams to revolve around wharf and what they say goes

they also need to resurch stuff a bit better before they publish stuff most people hear in the UK were fooled into buy the so called blue aro because they published it was a new trpe of SA aro

i do understand that its hard to put a mag like that together but at least make sure what you publish is right as people belive what they read in that mag

when the so called blue aro came on to the market when you try to tell people they were blacks all i used to see were people saying no its blue look PFK said so so it must be blue

its a good mag but i feel its just lacking something over the last year

I do remember reading about the blue aro online on PFK's website. Did they say it was a new subspecies of black aros ?

Oh well, just take the good with the bad. Check out some articles from writers on its american counterparts. Talk about regurgitated read-from-the-book then pass it down information.

im just intrested to see what the future holds for this type of mag now the internet is big time

the problem is the mag contains reads letters asking about problems with their fish now with the net you can find replys to your ?s within mins

as you have said you read their online stuff but dont buy the mag

i have learn some stuff from the mag over the years

i just wondered what others thought

I buy it from time to time, I would rather read TFH, Tropical Fish Hobbyist, as I find it more interesting plus they have that "top of the food chain" section.

read it online however books and magazines will always have a place in the hobby IMO-Anne
