Tetraodon biocellatus

Just wondering who all keeps these guys? think i could keep one alone in a 10 gallon tank?

also for later on i was just wondering what size tank a snowflake eel would need. these guys look freakin sweet, and they can stay in high level brackish for life! (Gymnothorax tile)

G. tile is the freswater moraynot the snowflake. Echidna nebulosa is the snowflake, if that's what you are thinking of.
i would do an F8 in a 20 or bigger and snowflakes in a 75, don't know about FW eels

G.Tile is the species.....never rely on common names. it does get to 24" so do you think i better go with a 75 or would a 55 work.....i mean eels are pretty flexible.

Unfortunately a lot of LFS have the brackish morays listed as "Freshwater Snowflake Eel" on their order forms. Last time I checked that is how Segrest Farms lists them.

i think a 40 breeder would be better but a 55 should work and obviously bigger is better, which ever you can afford

Cramp it and it will look for an exit. I'de say a 75 at least. One is very boring. I'de say 1/2 dozen would be a lot cooler.

These things rock! Feeding time is never dull if you keep at least 3 together. I have 2 small ones maybe 8 in long. I feed whole thawed shrimp. they use the "buddy" system to rip off bite size chunks.

Definition of aggresive fish= 1/2 dozen tiles that have been starved for a week and a half and 3 pieces of shrimp. Make sure heaters are covered, ug tubes and H.O.B. filter tubes braced, and rocks they live in aren't tipsy. All these things in check and that's entertainment.

I'm told I'm not even brackish......I don't have a hydrometer that goes as low as what I have. I mix 2 Teaspoons sea salt per gallon. That is the same mix I've always used. Must work OK had all these fish for almost 3 years without a single death. Monos are pushin 8 inches tall for the Sebaes and prolly 6 for the Argentinians. Tile is prolly 18 and the other eel (looks different than the tile) is prolly 22 inches. Scats are like 6-7.
