haha glad you were able to come around rayman :) and yeah, i'm pretty happy with the new gars!
seems like we need more people to list their gars...there have got to be more than two gar-keepers on site!

I HAVE A 14 INCH SPOTTED GAR WHICH EATS LARGE SHRIMPS FROM THE MARKET.I FIND IT CHEAPER TO FEED THE FISH FROM THE MARKET THAN BUY FROM THE PETSHOP .

Hi everyone, I am new to this site and just got back into this hobby. I love gars. They are so primitive and cool looking. I currently have two true alligator gars and one spotted gar. Looking for a longnose gar to join em.

I have them in a 240 gallon right now and they are about 12". I bought them when they were babies and have raised them to this size in a 70 gallon tank and that was over one year. If you manage your feeding rate, you can have these behemouths for a long time in 240 gallon tank. Most people overfeed their fish for the enjoyment of watching them engulf food down. It actually is healthy for fish to go through periods of fasting as this is a natural occurance in the wild.
