lateral line disease...? i've actually never seen a case in person, so i dunno...

I don't know the meaning of "hith" but i think you mean the scars.. one of the owners before had a group of them and they all died except of him. I hope in a few months he won't have the scars any more.. but he's healthy and I hope I'll find a female for him.

Sorry, I understood you wrong.

The Uaru hasn't a disease. If you keep these species in a "bad" water they get wholes und scarbs. One of the owners before did that and in my water (PH 6,2) the scarbs are healing.

Hith = Hole in the head or lateral line disease :) And it looks just like yours :) And better conditions and diet seem to arrest it and heal up the affected specimen :)

No big deal. But it does have HITH/Later line. And if it is healing :) You are right the scars will go away :) This is a GIVEN :)

Still That UARU is a rare find in home aquaria lately :) I've been saving for a PAIR for about 6 mo's :) but you know how saving goes LOL :)

That Uaru is gorgeus, DiXon used to keep a nice pair of them.
