View Full Version : Curtain Of Peace... Solution to a more peaceful arowana community tank
I believe lots of bro and sis here got problem trying to have a peaceful community tank of arowana.
This is something which I have done to my current community tank of RTGs and two other smaller aros. The biggest RTG is always a terrorist in there and after I have created this curtain of air flow in there dividing the tank into have, the aggression is hardly been seen in there. And I do notice those RTGs which substained injuries previously are healing thus I concluded that this method do work.
This is the picture of the setup.

Trust me. I got 3 filtration in there to run this tank. And not to mention another one which I added to work internally for another filtration. Strictly, there're 4 filtration running this tank.:D

Interesting idea. I gotta try that on my 6 aros..silver x 1, jars x 5. The only thing I'm using at the moment is 2 powerheads with the air intake full blast to give the tank bubbles. :)
Hopefully when I have the time I'll post some update photos. :D

Sometime when they're too much current in the tank, the fishe will be stressed out...

your tanks are AMAZING!!! Truly an arofanatic! Nice job and brilliant idea with the bubble wall.

Thanks. I got the idea from watchig them along time during feeding and also base on their behaviours in there with and without airstones in there. Then I try this idea out and see if this will serve as a barrier.

are you sure the bubbles aren't just freaking him out and causein the new behavior?
my clown seems freaked out by bubbles and usually hides and stuff.
but is he acting alright now?

They're feeding well straight after I installed the bubble curtain.;)

I have had one place in my tank, with floating plants, where the Aro chose to rest. I put bubbles on the other end, an airstone and a bubble curtain. He was bananas over the bubbles. He'd swim and work his way until he could wedge and stop and sit in the bubbles. He even bit and popped the big bubbles for fun. In fact, all of the Aro's I've had loved bubbles.
The most bubble crazy one I had was Gu Kaan, the one in my signature vid clip. I used to reach in gently and hold the meaty part of his tail, just enough so he could stay in the bubbles. If I let go, he'd race back over and swim through my fingers and stop when he felt my fingers so he could keep hanging out in the silly bubbles. What a great fish he was!!
