Just thought I'd share a few pics of my 3 new ornates, and my big one.

Bic pen for scale.

There is three of them, but I couldn't get all three sitting still in the same place for a good pic!!

And with the eel trying to hide in the pipe

And a short, but not particularly exciting, video.

Nice looking ornates and the big one is a nice looking male-Anne

It can vary but at least on smaller species 7-9 inches minimum
midsize and larger species usually 10-12 inches minimum
(yours is a very obvious male)

Those are seriously nice ornates!

Are these your first polys?

I bought a palmas about two years ago, raised it from a similar size to the small ornates to a fat 10", then sold it to make way for the little ornates. I pucked up the big one around 3-4 months ago, he's put on a few inches and got a lot chunkier since then! [don't even ask what he cost!!!]

I'd love more, but only senegal, ornate, palmas, and delhezi are on the 'allowed to be imported' list. With our dollar so strong against the US I really should be looking to import some!!

With the NZ dollar hitting a record high against the US today, $40US = $49NZ, less than half that those little guys cost me. Bichirs are still pretty uncommon, they have only been readily available in the last few months, and very sporadicly [and sometimes illegally!] imported before then.
