There are big differences between the 2 gobies.
Pomatoschistus minutus is a brackish to full marine goby that grows to 4".
Oxyeleotris marmorata is a freshwater to brackish goby that grows to 26" and can eat prey up to 2/3rds it's own size.

i looked these 2 up on fishbase, i don't know why i couldn't find anything before probably just spelling error. but i do think they are the O. Marmorata. they have been doing fine in freshwater so far so most likely not p. minutus looks like a huge tank in the future! tthanks again for your help!
Spell it marmorata, the marbled sleeper goby, I had one and they get big, they eat anything meaty including fingers, they don't move much except when feeding. a ten inch one can eat an 8" bass and at least try to eat a 12" one. If you let them they will eat their own weight every day, they top out at more than 2' long. Mine once tried to eat the filter intake, the heater,(sucked 3/4 of it in), and my hand.
