How do you know if your tank needs a CO2 injector. I don't right now, but wondering for in the future.

Howdy,

It all depends on what plants you have ...

and how big the tank is ther are some cheap ones out there for up to 20 gal or you can make a home made one again for smaller tanks also look into flourish excell it's a liquid carbon based fertilizer that helps me out a lot untill i can afford the real thing.

No. The need for CO2 does not depend on the tank size. It depends on the plant species and maybe the density of vegetation, whereas the latter only plays a minor role in most cases.

Well..., you dont really need Co2 for most common plants as they would still survive and grow, just at a slower rate. You will need Co2 when you want to start dosing a higher dosage of fertilisers or fight algae. You would also need Co2 when you have a higher lighting intensity and photoperiod for the more demanding plants.
