Hello, I am new to Monster Fish Keepers, i have a new tank, its 30 gallons, and right now my water is kind of cloudy, theres a possibility i did not wash the rocks correctly said my bf. How many discus should i get, also, are there any other fish that would go well with them?

Thanks!

Sounds like ammonia. Test for ammonia, and that will tell you if the cloud is ammonia, or dust. Dust will settle out fast, ammonia will have to wait for the tank to cycle.

I'd do a minimum of 4 discus. 6 would be better. For tank mates, the sky is the limit, but cardinal tetras, and rummynose tetras are the staples.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Not only check your ammonia but dont forget about the nitrates. I agree with WildFyr on the other stuff. Make sure you add cory cats though to pick up those extra bloodworms , which is a crucial part of the discus's diet. Make sure the water chemistry is perfect before u add fish, discus are very delicate.

thanks a lot! What other food could I feed my fish? Or are blood worms ideal?

Bloodworms, blackworms, tetra color flakes, beefheart mixtures, earthworm pellets, NLS discus food, all of these are good. The first four are what I use, the NLS I haven't got, and the earthworm pellets have just started in my tank.
