My absolute #1 best pleco of all time is of course the one in my avatar...

L200 Baryancistrus demantoides.

I have five, what i think is three females and two males in a 45 long with Tetras and cories (set up like the upper orinico). Wish me luck in the breeding attempt next winter......

They hae some gold nuggets at my LFS and some that look like the snowball's, but I think they were named something else (of course, you cant trust LFS labeling.) They also had some royals and I think it was a sarlet cactus pleco?!?! I really think I like the gold nugget the best so far...aside from the queen arabesque which I cant find.

Nothing fancy or expensive - and fancy plecs are VERY expensive in this part of the world :(

They are sensible sized (12"max), peacefull, tough as an old boot and not overly shy in the tank. You actually get to see them lazing around the tank in daylight.

This guy is boss in my 50gal tank, and he knows it :D

Yeah I'm partial to Panaques .... especialy L90's and LDA65's along with L330's. I think I've got 30+ of the various Panaque sp.

L046 are my fav's, I put more effort into the cute little things than most of
my other fish(other than rays). I have to confess, anything large like L95
and L25 are high on my list. I have about 20 breeding groups of smaller
types of plecos.

Although Gold Nugget's was my first and always been my favorites, I would have to say, my L-046 zebra plecos are just a notch over my GN's.

Thats a sweet picture TLkmDN, the big guy is one of the royal panaques (I think a Xingu). They eat wood in addition to veggies so make sure your new guy has access to some driftwood. Why don't you post a pic of him in the pictures thread.

I don't know that I could ever answer that question. It's like what's your favorite Beatles song or fav Pink Floyd song. So many I like. I think my answers might change daily. But I do remember my two blue eyed Panaque suttoni (or whatever scientific name they have on it now) It was like black silk with teeth and siberian husky eyese. I'll never forget them..........and hopefully someday if we can get them grown on a fish farm I'll have my babies again.
