I wish. That and the other smaller parachromis - mota loisellei all intrigue me greatly. But I've got enough fish and tankspace as it is for a broke college boy, so I'll have to wait for the long run before I can own such specimens.

Friedricksthalli are a very nice looking Cichlid but can be rather aggressive towards others.

Anal and Dorsal fins have been for me the best way to sex Friedricksthalli. Females Anal and Dorsal fins are more round and blunt where as the males Anal and dorsal fins come to a sharper point.

The colors on her are magnificant. :hearts:
She's a number one stunner.
Give me some fry.

BTW both my m and f Dovii are huge vag's.
It's just my luck I keep ending up with pussy pred fish.

I have an 11" male fredrichstahli. They are not nearly as aggresive motaguensis however they are more aggresive than loiselli. They are aggresive as texas cichlids only with stronger jaws, larger teeth and more agilty.

I have a female Friedricksthalli about 4-5 " kept with a male dovii, male midas, breeding texas's, pike and gt. She definately holds her own in this tank. The midas is probably pushing 7" now and she takes no sh*t from him. She punks the pike who is also considerably bigger than her. At this size she has 3 visible teeth and is not afraid to use them. Very happy with this fish even though I thought it was a female moto for a long time.

Can you sex these fish at a young age. Lets say like 2 to 4 inches. By looking at the finnage.
I am thinking of buying some.

My 6"freddy has killed or brutaly atacked every tank mate that I have tryed(oscar,JD,GT,Gar,Rpb).........exept for the common Pleco.

It has stopped being aggresive to me for some odd reason, after biting me many times. and now hides at first when I enter the room
