I was in the LFS today and he had an eel in there that I have never seen before. It looked like a small version of a moray eel, but it was white. He had it in freshwater.

Does anyone have any idea what it might be. He called it a snowflake eel, but I can only find pictures of saltwater snowflakes, and they look nothing like it.

I'll try to get a picture up soon. Like I said it had the face of a moray. And a bulge behind the head, it the "neck" region. It was ~10-12".

so will it darken up when it gets bigger?, cuz the ones in the pictures are pretty dark colored, and this one was pretty much white

I my start a new thread for this one, but, since I picked up a tank today should I make it brackish? and how do I go about doing so? I doubt I just throw in seasalt and hope for the best...

ps I haven't bought the eel yet, its on hold for me tho

it should darken up as it becomes less stressed (aka settles in a bit) and if you have it over a darker substrate they usually show better color anyway
you would need to cycle the tank as brackish or SLOWLY raise the salinity, over the period of a month or so.
