View Full Version : Super-Red arowana
This is my first post in this site. I've seen some familiar members here (east and west). I had kept many fishes before, but, eventually ancient fish is my favorite.
Here's my super-red arowana. Its color develops slow, but steady, and is turning better. It used to like:Growth of my SR (http://arowanaclub.com/ClubArticles/CDMred/CDMred.htm)
And, it was like the pic below (last june):
http://arowanaclub.com/ClubArticles/CDMred/6.jpg
Its color is now turning toward more intense and more red:

we are also looking for that snakehead in SIN...but presently they are out of stocks!
As for lung, can they be kept together with aros? I came across a pce same as yours ard 12"......wanted to get it.....but my frens told me they are too slow to compete for food with aro, st, ray, etc

There used to be plenty of SH in SIN. I've seen Cichlids Forever got a full tank before.
12" is a good size of a lung to start. I failed few pcs around 6~7" (very expensive here). The smaller ones are not stable, and need more care. They are really slow, and are very weak food competitor. Hence, if it's with something like rays, or SH, they will starve to death. I used to keep the 12" lungfish with a 11" disc ray, the ray broke the "legs" of lungfish frequently. I currently keep the lungfish with some bichirs (delhezi, palmas, polli, ropefishes). They are pretty ok so far. However, think I'll have to keep it alone in a tank as it grow big. It might try to eat anything near due to its bad eyesight and its slow motion.

brudder CDM...seems like got pop eyes symdrome ah....
Yup, that's why I seldom post these front view poses of photos of it. There were some red arowanas imported during that period of time (3 yrs ago) which got the same pop eyes symdrome.

snakehead!!!!!!
popeye might be the prelude to more sinister diseases bro.
I initially thought it might be some diseases, and did some treatment for a period of time. But, the symdrome was kept that way. I then discussed with some LFS guys and aro experts, and they said some red aros imported during the same period of time got the same pop eyes symdrome. So, I stopped the medication treatment, and it's a yr ago. The aro is doing ok so far.
snakehead!!!!!!
LOL...... think it's even more snakehead than real snakeheads.
