current contents...

1 Nicaraguense (about 6 inches)

1 Salvini (3.5 inches)

1 Male pink convict (4 inch)

could I add something? I split some of my less aggressive cichlids into a 55 (severums and such) so I could maybe add one more aggressive fish to fit in with these dudes...But I DONT want a firemouth. I want a managuense, but I hear those are obviously aggressive, same as the red devil.

any suggesions? how are motaguenses?

thanks for any suggestions

Dempsey?

Managuense (Jaguar cichlid) Would be a very bad idea, it would eventually get
bigger then your other fish and most likely kill them all.

I have a dempsey right now, but he is not aggressive enough for the bunch in the 75 so I am moving him to the 55.

(he just hides and when he comes out he turns pale and has his fins clamped as though he is in a form of submission in front of the Nicaraguense)

He is about 5 inches, but he is so peaceful he doesn't bother a thing.

Another thing that confuses me is that he was also the first cichlid in the tank with a green severum that was half his size and ever since I have added fish he has just been scared.

He used to be real dark black with prominent spots, but hes a big pansy now.

In the tank at the LFS he was the biggest and clearly the boss of the tank, so I don't know if he grew out of it or had a bad run in with another fish in the tank that I didn't see, but I don't want another Jack Dempsey.

I might try the green terror and not the petsmart green terror, I am getting a decent sized sexable one.

would an oscar be a bad idea??? I have seen some pretty massive oscars, I have just never had one before and don't know much about their aggression.

An oscar would probably push the filters over the edge, but if you had crazy filteration/water changes you might be able to get away with it.

what about a bluegill or a large african knife fish?
My freind has a bluegill in his 55 gallon growout tank filled with Grammodes, Salvini, and Flower Horn all around 3" and according to him the Bluegill fits in perfectly.
