Fantasy Catfish Thread!

Hey I've been inspired by all the hybrids comming out lately with our favorite kitties. I know this subject is touchy with some people, but can you just imagine some of the possible hybrids after hearing what's come out lately? Well here's a thread to express what you would like to see as far as a hybrid. Hell go ahead and photoshop or draw it and paste it here too lol. Personally I would love to see filamentosum x glanis, or glanis x tsn, or gigas x rtc. Let me see what you can come up with!!!! I'll try to draw up something tonight!:headbang2

I guess also they don't have to be hybrids if you have ever day dreamed of your perfect species of catfish go ahead and post that here too lol. This is just for fun I am not suggesting that we should ever go out and try to hybridize every species of catfish in the world!

Gulper mixed with red tail cat, in the hopes of a red tail cat sized fish, with the mouth of a gulper. I dont think anything or anybody would be safe, but itd be badass to have.

the mouth of the gulper is QUITE similar to that of a attu, but without the teeth

I like that RTC x Gulper Idea...I can actually see that in my head...lol. I personally would like a Flavicans....period. If I had to hybridize something....Id try wyckii x RTC or Tigrinus x RTC.

Took me a few hours to come up with a great combo. Then about 30 mins to get what you guys have so far. I am working tonight on completing the drawing and hopefully starting on another fantasy hybrid drawing. It does not exist to my knowledge, but I really wish it did lol.:drool:

Damn!! That's an awesome drawing!! I can paint, but I can't draw like that...nice work.

I just picked up a wyckii yesterday and I was watching him and my marbled pim and I was thinking that would be a pretty sweet hybrid if you could get the black marbled coloration with the bright white tail and those long wiskers of the longibarbus...just a thought. :drool:

there's an orange jelly cat (Cephalosilurus apurensis) at a FS near me that I'd love to have, but I hear they are dangerous as tankmates to anything, although it is 6" and has been with fish of its own size for a while now. does that count? :)

i finally got the black lancer my LFS has had for months and months.they will try to eat very big fish thats pretty much it so with bigger tankmates there fine with other fish mikes a little pricey but thats a nice fish if you got a spare tank or one with large less aggressive fish i'd say get it

ya, I heard they are okay with fish larger than they. However, I don't have anything for it right now. i could try it in the 210, but most of the fish are either short enough to fit in its mouth and the ones that are longer are pretty skinny. MMM...big worms :ROFL:

now that would be the most wicked combination
TSN- the greatest predator in the fish water especially with iths awesome hunting skills
clarius- ability to walk on land
E cat- stun them before you eat 'em
