As brokers of Asian arowana, we import fish from various farms. As part of our business model, we offer an extremely discounted price for those who preorder. Preordering involves a 25% deposit to secure the fish as well as pick up at the airport. You take the fish directly home from the airport.
Less risk for us, less charge for you.
The remaining stock is then acclimatized and pellet trained in Vancouver. Customers may view and choose their own fish, but the price is considerably more.
More choice for you, already pellet trained and acclimatized.
More risk for us... so more cost to you.
For some, it is important to see and choose your own fish, so its worth paying extra to view the fish once in Canada. For others, especially those buying HBRTGs and RTGs, picking a fish is not as important, so it is in their favor to preorder. That said, the majority of fish are already purchased before they land in Canada!
