Eh...cuz most peeps tankz here blow mine away for looks....lol....plus its a pain gettin a good shot, but just for YOU Del, here are some. These were taken bout two months ago, so i have rearranged my tankz several times, but it gives yaz a general idea what my tankz look like. Don't have pictures of my other 125 or my 300gal though, just my 20gal, 75gal, and 125gal.

Anywho..first two are of the 20gal...next two are of the 75gal...and the last two are of the 125gal...;)

Can't wait till the buggas get there! FIVE!! Gettin FIVE Crenicichla sp. 'cobra's...how freakin kewl is that?! I'm seriously lovin it! I just did a 40% water change on my 125gal tonight, the one they are gonna be goin in. Removed the Chocolates and Festae. The psittacus, other pikes, jurupari, and festivum don't know what to do with themselves now that they have more room...lol. I need more pikes though!!

Your aquascaping is pretty cool. Where did you get that big stump piece in the 125 (far right, and not quite water-logged)? Locally collected or what? I love pieces like that.

Peanut_Power
10-25-2005, 4:17 AM
I went down to a local river...Platte River...runs right through Nebraska. Its completely water logged....lol. It used to be about 6 feet long but it didn't fit in my tank so i sawed off the top part. I hauled it about half a mile downstream. SUCKED! It was NOT light. Oh well...I will do practically anything for my fish tankz! :D

Peanut! A couple of months ago you posted pics of a beautiful Crenicichla. They weren't yours I think. They looked a bit transparent with a fishbone pattern and had yellow and green spots. I tried to find the thread again but I can't. Do you remember what thread it was?

Peanut_Power
10-25-2005, 12:48 PM
The threads get recycled...i had a thread on here wit my orinos and now its gone...sigh....can you give me a better description of the pike? LoL...I'm a bit lost...that could be MANY pikes....lol...

rock on man. I said in a previous post on another thread that soon the mods are gonna need to add a sub forum just for pikes because of you. :headbang2 :clap

Peanut_Power
10-25-2005, 6:50 PM
LoL! I HIGHLY doubt they will do that just cuz of me. I don't think there is enough hype about Crenicichla just yet to warrant that. I'd love it if they did though! Wooo doggie! I know we could keep it busy! LoL!

Mourinho18
10-25-2005, 6:53 PM
I'm gonna get some pikes soon man. It's my promise to you. Let's start up a sub forum. Bring it up to the mods

Peanut_Power
10-25-2005, 6:57 PM

Look PP, I dont remember. But think of the most beautiful species you know remembering my description, and you'll remember, I am sure. You posted them just because they were so amazing looking. Real green and real yelllow spots, arrow like, fishbone pattern Uh?

Peanut_Power
10-25-2005, 7:06 PM
I'm confused by what you mean by fish bone pattern......and the spots...Crenicichla acutorostris? Crenicichla marmorata, Crenicichla lenticulata, Crenicichla sveni..........oh man....hmmm....

Mourinho18
10-25-2005, 7:12 PM

10-26-2005, 10:23 AM
PP, it is not one of those. It had green and yellow - no red and no orange. Fishbone pattern were probably the muscles showing through the skin, it was very light-looking, half transperent. You posted a few pics and there was not any info or anything.

Peanut_Power
10-26-2005, 2:55 PM
Crenicichla cincta? Crenicichla sp. 'xingu I'? Green and Yellow? What the hell...hmm.......Crenicichla sveni keeps comin to mind.....Crenicichla tigrina? I'm really thrown off by the green and yellow. Unless it was a dwarf like Crenicichla compressiceps or Crenicichla regani?

Peanut_Power
10-26-2005, 2:55 PM
Or Crenicichla percna, Crenicichla sp. 'belly crawler'...the list is sooo big....

Peanut_Power
10-27-2005, 2:48 AM
Pikes are PIMP!! Aside from aggression..they aren't that hard really...specially once they get past 4".

Shekes...that looks like either a Tapajos I, or a xingu II....very nice. Might be something else though...lol. Ocellatus? Hmm...Saxatilis pike probably...pictures?

Hey Peanut :) , got me some pikes from Jeff yesterday.....what do you suggest I feed these guys? Got me 2 males & 2 females.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/Rcky_Lim/cobra1.jpg

Peanut_Power
10-27-2005, 4:24 AM
Four eh? How big are they? Really hope they are two males and two females....doesn't seem like he had any big enough to sex accurately yet...unless you got some over 6"...then it migh be a bit easier. Great pike up...lol...LOVE them.

You can feed them practically anything. I got my 5 from Anthony yesterday (Tuesday) and by last night I had mine eatin - krill, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, cocktail shrimp, and beefheart. So they can be taught to eat other things...;). Get them fat on guppies first since they are gonna be STARVED from the trip, then after they eat all of those start gettin them on mysis, bloodworms, blackworms, cocktail shrimp, and krill. The mysis, bloodworms, and blackworms will be the easy part. Other foods might be easy. All pikes can be taught to take prepared foods like pellets and sticks....my 'mystery' pikes already do...and the marms are interested in them already. ;)
