basically self explanitory, but I want a dovii. I saw a 240 gallon for 590$ new is that a good price? and about how much should I pay for a dovii, as I have never seen them in any fish stores around here.

could I breed them in the 240 if I had it for a while and then get rid of the female when the male gets too big?

As far as water parameters, I have a pH of about 7.8 and pretty hard water...Would it be ok with that?

You can keep a pair in a 240 for a long time just if there is anybeating then take on of them out. $590 is a great price but does it come with anything if not go used because much cheaper. The Dovii in the LFS around here are like $3-6 for juvis. They aren't really expensive around my area. Param. are ok for the dovii but if you want to lower the pH just add peat to your filter and of course driftwood to the tank.

It doesn't come with everything, but everytime I find a used one that size its ike 1400 and it comes with everything and I think thats pretty rediculous...Or its saltwater and its got a bunch of useless crap

I will just build my own stand though and I don't see the point in having too powerful lights anyway so I will probably just hang a flourescent strip from the ceiling that i could buy from home depot.

I'll keep looking around for a better price then on the tank, but I don't need too big of a tank if I breed them some and maybe give the pair to a fish store if they get mean and grow out some juvies or something.

thanks

Sounds like my tank. 240, homemade stand, dovii pair, home depot lights. :nilly:
