I've got 15 ranging in size from 1.5" to 6.5" with a little bit of everything in between. Water changes (25%) once a week and light feeding twice a day help with this many fish. Some people claim I'm overstocked while others say I can have as many as 20 or 25. I don't know, but my tank is ok (tested weekly). I'm happy with this for now.

I wanted more cichlids, so I just bought another tank. My new 55 will have a couple of cichlasoma grammodes. I can't wait for these.:) Bigger, meaner fish.;)

I almost forgot, my mbuna tank is a 54 gallon corner tank. I use two Penguin 150 bio wheel hang offs (150gph each) and an undergravel filter with a Penguin 1140 power head (300 gph). So theoretically, I'm flowing 600 gph.

As long as I do my part to keep the water clean, everything's fine. Also, I would maybe stay away from the kenyi's with an african community tank (don't know if you were even thinking about these). I had one for a while and it was nothing but trouble. It ate the eyes and fins of my pleco and chased the other africans day and night like it was obsessed.

I'll get you a llist of my fish a little later. I'm sure someone will come along with more detailed info soon. Good luck.

I would put 50 in there....

BUMP. what about a 20 gallon
