Hello wanting information on what filter/s to but for 300 gal aquarium? Long time ago I had power filters for smaller aquariums, should I go for power filters now or pond type filters, I really dont know what is out there now, its been a while since I've had an aquarium.:nilly:

i say a big one!!!, i agree with guppy, but i'll add some. get an FX5 and hook a FSF to its return to the tank and you'll be able to put some monsters in that 300

Ummm anybody care to ask what he plans on stocking? LOL

I would look into the FX5 IMO

Id wonder about what he's stocking as well... that may make a LOT of differance in how you filter your tank.

Still...start with an FX5 and then add two Marineland emporer 400's with supercartrages and a pair of air driven hydro5's and your ready for whatever you'd like to stock it with....

Hello, thanks for the information but anyway you can spell it out?, it sounded like code (the answers)What is a Fx5?

A full list of fish is on my previous post named "new need information on 300 gal project

i second that

id go to fx5's and a big ass wet dry and two AC 110's for the hell of it, but thats my way of doing it as much filtration as possible:headbang2

An FX5 is a large cannister filter that runs about 700gph loaded with media....Emporers are HOB powerfilters that do a great job of bio filtration and Hydro5's are economical sponge filters that add bio capacity and can be run in a power outage with a battery powered air pump.

my 150 has 2-75g biowheels and a 200g canister filter. the biowheels are just for bio and the canister filter is all mech
