My little female salvinis, less than a year old, 7" long and 4" tall and she is still growing fast.

Sorry about the dirty glass. She looks much better in person.
I have a smaller one that is much more colorful than this one. Too bad, the smaller one always hide. I can't get a good picture of her.

She is one of the smallest fish in my tank. My F0 convict from Costa Rica is bigger than her. She does not bother any other tankmates.

OMG man that Sal is awesome. Oh and thats a Male by the way lol. Blue speckaling and no black and blue spot on the dorsal amd the size leads my to a very healthy fat boy. My male has only grown maybe an inch since I got him. He is growing SOOO slow.

I was thinking the same thing until she paired up with my male Escondido. I called the breeder and he told me that every fish in the batch turned out to be females.

That female salvinis is in a 240g tank now but she grew up in a 135g tank. I just do alot water change like 60 to 75% once or twice a week.

Ok I think these are the 2 best Salvini I've ever seen. AWESOME Fish!!
I've been trying to find a female for a while to replace the juvie I lost (she was as bright as yours at 3"). So...where did you buy them? Are they wild caught or what? I gotta know!

No, the original F0s were collected from Mexico.

interesting, so have you collected them (the breeders) yourself or did you get these F1's from import?

No, I did not import the F1s, they are the babies from the F0s. FYI, Jeff Rapps is not the only person that supplies CA/SA cichlids. People have been collecting and keeping CA/SA cichlids for a long time even before Jeff worked for the wholesaler.

Wow didn't mean to bother you with that question o' Master of the obvious.
I was not asking about your F1's if you read my post properly you may have caught that...I was just curious where you got them (F0's) because I've been looking myself. I guess it was my mistake thinking this forum was for sharing information to expand our hobby.
Have a great day
