My 7-8" parrot changes colors every now and then. i have had it for a few years, and i know it was never color dyed. It goes betweed solid pure orange, brilliant irredescent pure orange, and What i call rose queen color.

its pure orage is just how it sounds.

its brilliant irredescent pure orange - for some reasonmy parrots bottome half is a little on ythe irredescent side. Its bottom scales will mimic the orange, but it will ''Glow"/shine through very well, and the overall orange it better.

rose queen Stage - his color will turn to Mouve (pinkish/purplish) color, and the odd bottom scales will turn reddish purple, and be very disinct frome the mouve color. it is very interesting when he is like this.
I have noticed that mood is a factor in his color, but that food it more important. Balaced diet=pure orange, lots of high quality shrimpy foods=brilliant orange, and a sernulina/veggie diet=rose queen.
i will tey to get a good digital camera, so i can show you the color changes. anyone elses parrot do this

it is cool. i had another parrot about that size but it didn't have the irredescent stomache. it looks fully parrot, but the special stomache is odd. i wonder what his parantage is
