What is the best type of lighting for plants? LIke spectrum and wattage wise?

Lighting temp should be ard 6000K to 10000K. Wattage would depend on your tank size... a general guideline would be 3 watts per gallon. If you know how to balance your nutrients, it wouldnt hurt getting more intensity.... i use ard 7 watts per gallon. So when you are buying your lights, try and buy the one with the most lightbulbs. Then when you need more lights you just turn them on. Dont be like me, buy untill so many light sets and become very cluttered.

i use a vho compact flour. fixture with 4- 55 watt bulbs in it... and have good results....

It all depends on what type of plants....like Java Moss and Fern need little lighting etc. and size of tank.
