HI erik! Welcome to the best forum in the world! I foudn this link about channas, and it includes the fish you are asking about. It seems that a 65cm fish (25.4 inches) may outgrow your 110 gallon tank, depending on the dimensions of the fish tank. It might get crowded if your put more than one, and will most definitely be not enough if you get your fish to live to the fullest. I know you will enjoy your new fish because they are the best aquarium fish there is. My favorites are the dwarf channas. :)

Okay, well I really hope that it isnīt C. marulia... Because it gets so very big. Judging on the small "bumps" on the marulioides head. I would say that it is an marulioides... But iīm not sure... Please come with more opinions!
Sorry for the poor quality of the pic, but my camera really sucks...

channas change colors.
it doesnt look like mine, but my first impression was a channa marulius, due to the spot on the tail. mine is more olive drab, has bumps nd the big nostrils too.
i'm going for the channa marulius aka what the thais call the cobra snakehead.

Okay, well then I have to get rid of it. Too bad, itīs a very nice-looking fish... I donīt want to take the risk of having to get rid of it when it gets over two feet in lenght...
Hiya erik and welcome to MFK, if your fish is small now you have a while to make arrangements, I had a friend who would grow out large fish to around 18" (the largest he could keep) then donate them to Public aquariums and schools, the trick is to make the arrangements well in advance. Like now, submit pictures and a species profile along with an estimate of when the fish would be ready, include genus/species, species origin area, and where you got it, as well as species parameters. Given enough lead time many aquariums are happy to get unusual specimens but they need time to evaluate if they have a place for it. Most people who try to give institutions fish wait until the last minute and the aquarium has no suitable accomodations. Even if they can't take it they might be able to steer you to who can.

Erik contact me if you want to get rid of it, i can house it AND i live in Sweden(Stockholm) :D
Before you get rid of it try to definitely identify it.First try www.snakeheads.org for more info.Second try to find where it was imported from.If it was India it is a marulias. If around Indonesia it is marulioides.See my gallery for mine, yours looks identical. The side markings look like flowers, hence its name of flower snakehead in some countries. If it is a marulioides it will likely grow to 20"-24" and can only be put in with another if the tank is huge. They are one of the more sociable snakeheads for their size and only seem to get heated at feeding time.A beautiful fish.
Sorry forgot to add that name marulioides literally means `like marulias`

Erik,
i'm not sure why you would want to get rid of it?
just becuase of the size it will get?
marulius really is a beautiful fish. it's also called the peacock snakehead , from the spot on the tail. mine is a juve, and the color change it does is cool, and it can also be monster predator.
again, a beautiful fish, and i can't wait to see mine get bigger.
