Whats the biggest flowerhorn you have seen ? I had a 15 inch flowerhorn in the past and ive seen 20 inchers in chinatown? Anybody seen bigger or are the max just in the Cichlasoma range?

Did you get a picture of the 20 incher? I would love to see it.
This is the biggest I have seen 14 inches

Can't wait to see the pics!! What does a purple rose look like? I have never heard of that strain...is it like a rose queen?

Me and Iheartfishies had what was probably around 12-13 incher that died from popeye he was only about ten months old..

their no way a flowerhorn can grow to 12-13 inches in 10 months. . .

The one at the LFS which I work at was atleast 13-14 inches.
It died last week though :( The best FH I have ever seen.
My friend from overseas has one that is 20 inches. The fish is not aggressive at all as it is very old and barely has any color. The guy is over 10 yrs old...

wow..it is rare that FHs can live that long...due to their cross breeding history, most of them do not thrive very long due to poor gene pool...alot of them perish after 5-6 yrs..

Bro..do note that i mentioned that most FHs i seen...did not outlive more than 5 yrs..but definately there are exceptions.

We get Rose Queens in local pet stores all the time..

Here's a pic of my biggest FH by far. Just sold him recently and he reached a length of a little more than 13inches. That's quite big for a ZZ strain FH. Those I've seen that have grown to more than 16inches were mostly of the jinhua/kamfa strain. At the time I sold this FH, it was about 18months old.
