View Full Version : a jar and a common pleco together??

i have a 7" jar and a 8" common pleco, would it be possible to place these 2 together in one tank (4'x1.7'x1.7')?

Would probably work they occupy different levels in the water column. wouldnt be much competition.

i tossed the common pleco in the tank now.. ill just observ.. the tank is bare tho

Until recently ive had a 50cm-ish common pleco with my 45cm jardini and they were sort of ok together.. The saratoga would always give it a hard time and generally piss it off. But they lived together for years and recently the big arse pleco died of old age.

Lesson here, MAYBE!!!

Yeah, it will definitely be the Jar who kicks @ss...not the pleco.

I've been one of the lucky ones who has been able to keep tankmates with Jardinis...I just use dither fish to distract him...so far no problems...I just keep him FAT.:D

yeah ur definitely right with that bro, just keep the food coming on them jars, and they wont touch any1..
