ok...its official ...i will begin coming up with a layout for a fish room to maximize tank space, easy maintenence and be energy efficient at the same time... I have a few ideas in mind that include stackable tanks and running sponge filters off of a few powerful air pumps.
Not sure which room i want to convert yet but my choices are:
20'x30' room or a smaller 12'x10' I'm leaning towards the smaller though.
The purpose of this room would be to breed a few species while holding one or two really large show tanks w/ mixed predators (these would be on wet/dry systems)
I prefer to use pre-owned acrylic tanks because of durability but would be open to newer glass tanks for the smaller stuff (50g-60g).
This room doesn't have to look pretty but must be able to comfortably house my fish, so making racks out of 4"x4", 2"x4" and cinderblocks would be ok too.
Target date for completion is this summer...I will definetly post pics of the entire process
Any suggestions or ideas?? please chime in Also, for those of you w/ fish rooms, please post pics and give me your advice as to what would be cost effective and be easily maintained too.
