I depends where you are in the US, but yeah...They are pretty much illegal....
its a leucistic snake head it does not have pink eyes they are normal colour. it may be harder to find than albino.

it could be an albino channa striata.
but, i dont see any red in the eyes. but that could be just from your camera. they eyes arent completely red, but around the eyeball is red.
i've never seen a leucistic snakehead.

when i first saw the PICTURE, i went albino snakehead; didn't even know there was such thing, all that came to my head was a white snakehead.
Got 2 for sale about half hour away from me.They are just selling as albino snakehead and as it looks like striata I think Id better warn him.Info and i.d.on snakeheadsand some other oddballs in this country is pretty poor with retailers simply putting what nickname the wholesaler gives them e.g.chocolate stripe knifefish(brown ghost knife) and my favourite silver shovelnose(sperata aor,or indian shovelnose growing in wild to over 6ft.Yes I did get one AFTER i.d.ing it)

I would say that's a leucistic snake head. The only reason they would be illegal is if you were to let it loose into the wild. I would get it. My uncle in Thailand has one...it's wicked!

benz - so you are saying that this specie of SH is legal in the US? I thought it was for all SH that is illegal regardless
