I think people just vote for what they like the best. It is a combination of both quality and content. Ofcourse i am biased and always vote for myself, but I guess I'll be actually having to make a decision now which to vote for, over the next three months:( :grinno:

I love seeing good pics of big ca/sa cichlids. I know it's not about the fish, but if there was a really awesome picture of a catfish or something and a close to really awesome picture of a huge managuense, I'd vote for the mana.

I voted for the picture I thought was the overall best. I am inclined to always pick the one because it has this fish or that fish, but then I decide against it because I feel if that is the only reason I am picking it then it is the wrong reason.

It sounds like it's about the fish and quality of the photo but currently the poll in here shows Cichlid's #1 but in the current poll for POTM all the Cichlids photo's all have one% votes! LOL! So I guess that really didn't reflect the same sentiment! And I really wanted to see a good cichild pic for a change! :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

All things being relatively equal in picture quality,( yeah I know that no two pictures are the same or really equal.) I vote for the most interesting subject. That's just life. I would like to see a cool Frontosa/Gibberosa, or a bad arse patterned ray, a large rare Piranha, even a monster Cory.;)

Devil's Hole pupfish (Cyprinodon diabolis) - less then 4 dozen remain in the wild.

Oh I see. According to Wikipedia there was a wild population of 126 at the last count in the fall of 2008. Not a lot, but more then 4 dozen. Sounds like there are quite a few places that are keeping some colonies alive as well. Such as the Hoover Damn and Mandalay Bay Casino.

I just found out that I need a MUCH better camera for taking pictures of my fish through glass! *sad* Maybe an under water camera would be nice? hmm... I can't wait. :D Id like to see a Tiger Oscar, or maybe even a Big clown knife... that would be neat.
