Just got back from the fish store with this little guy he's no bigger around or as long as your little finger 19 bucks .Thought that was pretty reasonible. He was in the tank no longer than 15 min and has already eaten 2 guppys(that is all the lfs could get him to eat). He is in my 40 gallon for the next few months (2-3) I am ordering a water trough from tsc(tractor supply co ) it is 8 foot in diameter and 2 foot deep(625 gallons) for $269.00 to keep hin in ( will take a week to get here after ordering).Do you think this will be big enough for him ?? filtration will be via a 30 gallon diy pond type filter and a blue line model 70 (1750 gph) Comments suggestions appreciated and welcome.

Nice little guy i think that the tank will probably be too shallow but it's still a better home than most TSN's get. I've seen a lot of TSN's that have been taken to my LFS due to outgrowing there owners tank and they always have busted noses.

I just bought one about the same size for 8$ :) You could try getting him on market shrimp instead of the guppys, mine eats shrimp very readily compared to other non-live foods.

Bruce what depth would be better than 24", 36" There is a agriculture supply place 1 hour from me that has huge poly tanks for all sorts of stuff I might try to contact them to see what they have .If it is any taller than 28 I will not be able to fit it inside my basment and it would cost a fortune to try to cool this thing (sc summer 100degrees plus)

One at 36" Would be better as it can get to 36" Long so it could stand up in a 2ft deep one.

found a plastic storage tank 67"dia and 42"tall for $289 (550 gall) I will need to cut the top off at 35"(width of doorway to fit it in the basement .
