Yeah, me too...that's why I currently have three different, very uncommon species of afra, and there's a ton more I would love to have.

which ones do you have? I'm a personal fan of the "lion cove" but like them all in general. Awesome coloration. I want to give a shot at keeping some tropheops sometime with more variations of the cynotilapia.

Benfica, I currently have my Lumbila afras, a colony of Mbweca afras, and a group of Long Pelvic afras. Considering tracking down some more species...

Thanks...the second and third are pics of the dominant male when he's fired up - the first is more what he looks like when he's calm or uninterested in what's going on.

definetely a noticeable difference. One of my males colors up REALLY nicely. Not sure which specific cynotilapia afra he is though. Wish i could get a decent pic so maybe you could id him for me.

The fish love it too :) I just switched it over to sand about two months ago, before that they just had white gravel...they have so much fun digging around and moving the sand around.
